Thank you for your interest in being a participant in the City of Alexandria’s 2025 George Washington Birthday Parade!  First held in 1801, this is the oldest and largest parade of its kind in the country.

The parade will be held on Saturday, February 15, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Old Town Alexandria (click here for parade route map).

The theme of the 2025 parade is George Washington: America’s Commander-in-Chief, in honor of the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolutionary War.  We encourage you to think about how your unit can celebrate George Washington as America’s Commander-in-Chief, American independence, our servicemen and women, veterans, and/or patriotism.  We look forward to your creativity!

The parade registration link is here.  The early bird registration rate is $75 per unit through Wednesday, January 15, and the rate increases to $125 per unit beginning Thursday, January 16. The application fee is non‐ refundable upon acceptance of the application, unless the parade is cancelled by the Parade Organizers.

Registration closes at the end of the day on Friday, January 31, so don't delay!

Please note, registration is a two-step process. After receiving payment, a parade application will be sent to you by email, which must be completed before we can process your application.  Parade Organizers reserve the right to decline a group's participation or restrict parade content at any time. All registrants agree to participate in accordance with the 2025 Parade Rules & Procedures which you can view here.
