  • Mike joined the SAR in 2006. He is a descendant of at least 11 Patriots of the American Revolution and a second cousin, eight generations removed, of General George Washington.

    Prior to his election as President General in July 2025, he served as Secretary General, Treasurer General, Chancellor General, and a Vice President General. He served two terms as National Trustee for Virginia and two three-year terms as a director of the SAR Foundation. He proudly served as President of the Virginia SAR and President of the George Washington Chapter.

    Mike's daughter, Emily, and son, William, have been active in the Children of the American Revolution (C.A.R.). Both are past presidents of the Virginia C.A.R. Emily served as a national officer for three years, and Will is the current National First Vice President. Mike and his wife, Julie, have both served as senior leaders for the C.A.R. for many years, and Mike has been the Virginia Senior State President and the Senior National Treasurer.

    For his day job, Mike is the Vice President for Labor Relations at the United States Postal Service. He is responsible for labor-management relations with the Postal Service’s seven unions, which represent more than 600,000 postal employees. He previously held the positions of Secretary of the Board of Governors; Associate General Counsel and Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer; Chief Counsel, Employment Law; and Chief Counsel, Appellate and Commercial Litigation. Prior to joining the Postal Service in 2010, he was a lawyer in private practice and served as a federal prosecutor and senior official in the U.S. Department of Justice. He was a law clerk to the Honorable Pasco M. Bowman, a former Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. He is also the co-author of a two-volume treatise on the law relating to grand juries, which has been cited on several occasions by the U.S. Supreme Court.

    Mike graduated with honors from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1991, and with high honors from the Duke University School of Law in Durham, North Carolina, in 1994. A native of Rockford, Illinois, he has lived in Woodbridge, Virginia, since 2002.

  • Ginnie Sebastian Storage brings extensive leadership experience to her role as the 47th President General of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution. She has been involved with DAR for more than 40 years, and has served in multiple chapter, state, and national positions, as well as in multiple leadership positions in the Children of the American Revolution national organization.

    Exemplifying the DAR’s commitment to historic preservation, Mrs. Storage has been a staunch advocate for the preservation of historic properties and collections nationwide. As Virginia State Regent, she committed significant funds to the preservation of Virginia records and raised more than $350,000 to underwrite a room on the first floor of the replica of George Washington’s Boyhood Home. She has also been a vocal supporter of the Mary Washington Monument, honoring the influential mother of our nation’s first President.

    Mrs. Storage has dedicated her professional life to human resources and has brought this expertise into every role she has had both within and outside of the DAR. She has also committed to many different community service organizations, giving back to society through service and philanthropy.

    Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Virginia, Mrs. Storage holds a BA from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Averett University. She still resides in Fredericksburg with her husband of 33 years, Mark. Together they have one daughter, Mackie, who carries on her mother’s commitment to historic preservation education and patriotism through DAR membership and various societal leadership positions.
