...George Washington's Day!
Click HERE to register as a marching unit in the parade. There is no charge or fee to any of our marching units, but we encourage donations. Please go HERE to donate!
The theme of the 2020 Celebration is “Selfless Service to Country.” The focus of the 2020 Parade will be on Music and the Performing Arts so if you are a performing group we hope you will be part of the Parade! (There are performance opportunities even for groups that are not able to march.) If you need information or clarification (or anything else like that), call Joe Shumard, Parade Director via 703-408-4483 or e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org. Everyone is welcome to celebrate the birth of the father of our country. Your organization must register in order to march in the Parade!
Experience the Parade!
The George Washington Birthday Parade is held annually on the third Monday in February. It winds through a one-mile route along the historic streets of Old Town. It is the oldest and largest parade celebrating the birth of George Washington in the USA, thanks to thousands of participants and spectators. More programs scheduled throughout the birthday weekend make it the cornerstone of a month of celebratory events. You can view (and download) a map of the Parade Route in the Parade Logistics section below. Check the Status section of this website for up-to-date information or call the Hotline if you have questions.
