Tenth Annual Cherry Challenge
The Tenth Annual Cherry Challenge was generously sponsored by the Historic Properties Group at TTR Sotheby’s Realty (Diane Murphy, Danny Smith, Jeanne Barton)
The winners of the 2018 Cherry Challenge were:
Beverage -- Café 44’s “Burning Down the Cherry Tree”
Appetizer -- Taqueria Poblano’s “It’s a Taco by George”
Entrée -- Jackson 20’s “Seared Long Island Duck Breast”
Dessert -- Dishes of India’s “Cherry Kulfee”
Honorable Mentions were garnered by Evening Star and Virtue Feed and Grain in the beverage category and by River Bend Bistro and Café 44 in the entrée category.

The #GWCherryChallenge is a
competition among the finer
restaurants in Alexandria.
Each restaurant develops its own cherry
cocktail, appetizer, entrée, and/or dessert,
in honor of our distinguished native son, of course!
The competing restaurants and their entries
will be listed on our website, and the winners
will be announced on Parade Day.
